Stewardship Moment Sept. 18th

Yesterday, was our first Sunday sermon focused on our stewardship theme, “Enough, Discovering Joy Through Simplicity and Generosity. ” Our sermon focused on naming some of the pain we each bring to the table when we talk about stewardship in the church and some of our own fears. We focused on giving one enough grace and mercy to be with each other and to allow one another to be vulnerable and honest about our financial situations, concerns, and to where we feel and hear God calling us to go.

Here are some questions for you to reflect upon and discuss with other members in your household. If you feel as though you need to speak with Pastor Katie or a member of the stewardship committee, please contact the church office at 235-1841. Thank you to Becky Stauffer for these questions.

1. When I think about my finances I feel…
2. How is your relationship with money affecting your joy?
3. How is your relationship with money affecting your relationship with your spouse, your family?
4. What would “being debt free” mean to you/your family?
5. How are your issues around money limiting God’ ability to use you?

Pastor Katie has served St. Paul Hametown since July 2012. She is a graduate of the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg with a Masters of Divinity and a concentration in Theology and Public Life. She is married with three children.
